We will be opening our Waukee store in March!!


The Delivery Driver has a very important role within the restaurant’s catering program. This role not only has the most communication with the end user but also is ultimately responsible for the execution of the catering order. If the order is late or the driver forgets to pack or leaves an item at the delivery site, the client may not be satisfied and they could be lost. The Driver is also responsible for being a Brand ambassador and therefore has to represent the brand at all times. Below are some of the job duties a Delivery Driver is expected to conduct.



 



SKILL SET NEEDED TO PERFORM JOB DESCRIPTION:





  • Practices proper time reporting (i.e., clocks in and out accurately).


  • Arrives to work on time, in the proper work attire, and ready to work.


  • Is neat and well-groomed for every shift and in immaculate and proper work attire.


  • Demonstrates a helpful, positive attitude at all times to guests and team members.


  • Comes to work with a charged cell phone.


  • Has exceptional guest service and communication skills.


  • Understands and adheres to all safety, sanitation, and administrative procedures.


  • Provides complete and timely communication to other employees throughout the shift.


  • Completes all assigned tasks and duties requested by managers.


  • PREPARE FOR A SHIFT BY PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING TASKS:


  • Meets with manager/Catering Coordinator to receive delivery updates and delivery assignment.


  • Assists Catering Coordinator with staging and assembling orders.


  • Stocks vehicle with necessary tools and backup disposables per pars set by manager.


  • Ensures that vehicle is clean and ready to represent Which Wich to the public through visual inspection, including tire pressure, clean windows, organized cargo area and organized cab


  • EXECUTES THROUGHOUT THE SHIFT BY PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING TASKS


  • Validates order accuracy including quantities, utensils, and order contents


  • Reviews delivery routes to determine most efficient routes


  • Prints any necessary directions


  • Has Superior Guest Service skills.


  • While on the road, practices driving courteously including signaling when changing lanes, obeying all traffic laws, never tailgating, restricting the use of the horn to emergency situations.


  • Follows company guidelines for reporting any problems or guest dissatisfaction.


  • Validate that all food and utensils have been delivered and set up to specifications of accompanying order.


  • Reviews delivery invoice with the guest to ensure all ordered items have been delivered.


  • Asks guests if they are satisfied when set up is complete.


  • Canvassing delivery area for lead generation after last delivery is complete.


  • EXECUTES AT THE END OF THE SHIFT BY PERFORMING THE FOLLOWING TASKS:


  • Completes assigned side work to maintain product supply level and sanitation standards.


  • Assists catering team with re-stocking and preparing items for next day delivery, as time allows.


  • Ensures catering area and equipment is clean and sanitized.


  • Ensures catering area is restocked with correct pars for the following day.


  • If driver has a company delivery truck, gas is refilled for the next day use.


  • Parks vehicle in space designated by company and turns in keys to manager.


  • Checks out with a manager/Catering Coordinator and performs additional duties as assigned.


  • Reads work schedule to determine when next shift and work time will occur.





 


Job Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


  • Must possess the appropriate Driver’s license in compliance with State codes for driving delivery vehicle

  • Must not have more than 1 moving violation within the past 12 months.

  • Able to communicate (speak, read, and write) in English.


                                    


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • Able to bend at the waist and lift items up to 50 lbs. to waist level.

  • Able to move items up to 30 lbs. for distances of up to 25 feet.

  • Able to hear, understand, and respond to team members’ and guests’ requests in a loud environment.

  • Skill and coordination at using hands to safely transport packaged food from production facility to delivery vehicle and to secure items for driving.
